Welcome to Anna Carson Photography

What is the best way to tell you about myself? Take a look at my work. When you look at my photography, you are looking at the world through my lens. I long to capture life. From the moments that may slip by quietly, like the wonder of a child or the peak of a bloom in spring to the moments that you will never forget like a girl becoming a bride or celebrating a new life making a beautiful debut. When the camera is in my hands, it's the most genuine extension of me.... my heart, my soul, my spirit. I feel privileged to share what I see through my viewfinder and be a part of these special moments. My style has been called fresh and casual. I try to be unobtrusive and unless it's a bigger event, purposeful posing has little place when I am around. Very rarely does life go the way we plan and I use that same philosophy when shooting, letting the subject tell the story, not me. Using natural light in your surroundings, whether it is your own home or your favorite park, lends itself to a timeless quality in the images that will remind you of "that" moment long after it has passed. I hope to meet you soon.

My iTunes:  Silver Lining by Rilo Kiley

Hey all!  I cannot believe how fast summer is going by these days!  It seems I am living shoot to shoot and trying to learn time management!  I have never been great about calendars BUT that is ALL changing.  I have to say it has  been very exciting.  I just got back from shooting a wedding in Alabama and sessions in Louisville, Ky….now time to edit!

Meet Sloanie, as she is so lovingly called….

I had a family session with her, her mom and dad.  I had so many good ones that I am having to split up my post about them.  Our afternoon took us to a golf course, the railroad tracks and to some great old buildings.  She’s a firecracker!  Her laugh resonates and she’s incredibly playful which makes for a VERY good subject when I am shooting!  You can feel her energy in these images.  Enjoy them!

Next up there will be more of mom and dad & the whole family!

My iTunes:  Her Diamonds by Rob Thomas

Meet Alex.  She’s my niece…my sister’s daughter.  We had so much fun shooting her senior portraits together this past week.  I have posted only five here as a sneak peek but there are so many fun ones to come later!  I’m so proud of her and the young woman she has become.  I remember vividly holding her as a baby and taking care of her from time to time for my sister in between college classes.  Crazy how time flies!  She’s an ecclectic, breath of fresh air who loves the Lord and lives her life accordingly for His glory.  Soon her senior year will be a memory so I am hoping she savors every second of the year to come.  These images are just a snapshot of a girl who is loving life…enjoy!

Love you Alex!

My iTunes:  Late by Ben Folds

I am so far behind in posting it’s not even funny.  This will be my attempt to start catching up.  I spent two full days in St. Simon’s Island, Georgia to photograph Hil & Michelle’s wedding.  We had a blast!  This is part one of several posts that I will be putting up sharing the weekend’s festivities.  These images are from her bridal luncheon given to her by her grandmother.  It was the perfect start to the weekend.

Enjoy this first look into Hil & Michelle’s nuptials….there’s a lot more to come!
