dad, papaw & jacob

My iTunes:  My Wish by Rascal Flatts

I haven’t posted anything personal for quite some time on here.  That will change with this post.  Sadie and her boyfriend Jacob had prom night a week ago.  The dress was bought, the earrings made (thanks to Jacob’s mom, Maria) and the night arrived.  I thought I would share some pictures that I took.  Can you see in her face how happy she is?  My grandfather always said that Sadie girl had “smiling eyes”….so true here I think.  Jacob, I will say again what a great sport you are for me in front of my camera.  You are incredibly patient to put up with my constant snapping.

My father came into town just to see her off and “check out” who exactly had asked her to prom (7th pic below).  I love the pic of Sadie with my dad and the pic with her dad.  She looks at them both with the very same loving eyes.  For the record, these are the same eyes I use when looking at my own father.  I am so glad that he came here for this because he has always been so close with her throughout her young life.  I am still trying to figure out while I write this post where my little girl has gone.  I have a feeling she’s still under all that grown up girl stuff….somewhere not too far away.

I hope you enjoy a window into another milestone passing us by…

pretty in pink

My iTunes:  Same Mistake by James Blunt

Just a little break from my trip pics of Guatemala.  There is plenty more of those!  I thought I would give you some pink today!  Pink always makes me smile!  What was so great about this shoot was that her mom brought this pink coat at the last minute and it made the pictures pop.  There was no rain or snow that day but she brought the cute wellies specifically for some of my feet shots!  I love that.

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

For those of you who have been following my photography since I was living in London, you know I love benches.  I made a point while in Guatemala to seek out as many as I could and get pics of them.  Here are a few of my favorites.  The woodworking craft there is just stunning.  If I could have loaded up my bag and brought some back I would have in a minute!

Benches always remind me to stop and take it all in so I did just that on my trip.  People watching is one of my favorite things and a good bench provides the best seat in the house!  Have a great weekend everyone!
