Welcome to Anna Carson Photography

What is the best way to tell you about myself? Take a look at my work. When you look at my photography, you are looking at the world through my lens. I long to capture life. From the moments that may slip by quietly, like the wonder of a child or the peak of a bloom in spring to the moments that you will never forget like a girl becoming a bride or celebrating a new life making a beautiful debut. When the camera is in my hands, it's the most genuine extension of me.... my heart, my soul, my spirit. I feel privileged to share what I see through my viewfinder and be a part of these special moments. My style has been called fresh and casual. I try to be unobtrusive and unless it's a bigger event, purposeful posing has little place when I am around. Very rarely does life go the way we plan and I use that same philosophy when shooting, letting the subject tell the story, not me. Using natural light in your surroundings, whether it is your own home or your favorite park, lends itself to a timeless quality in the images that will remind you of "that" moment long after it has passed. I hope to meet you soon.

My iTunes:  Late by Ben Folds

I am so far behind in posting it’s not even funny.  This will be my attempt to start catching up.  I spent two full days in St. Simon’s Island, Georgia to photograph Hil & Michelle’s wedding.  We had a blast!  This is part one of several posts that I will be putting up sharing the weekend’s festivities.  These images are from her bridal luncheon given to her by her grandmother.  It was the perfect start to the weekend.

Enjoy this first look into Hil & Michelle’s nuptials….there’s a lot more to come!

My iTunes:  Here I Am, Send Me by Matt Papa

Happy Father’s Day!

I am missing my father very much today but I am looking forward to seeing him next week when I make a trip to Kentucky.  I am combining business and pleasure on my trip so if anyone is interested in a shoot make sure to contact me before I leave next Monday.

Just above is Leah.  You may remember her and her brother from a post a few months ago.  You will be able to watch her grow here over the next year since I will be photographing her every few months.  I thought this would be great for Father’s Day since I snapped a few with their dad during our session.  She is one cute kid…I am 99% sure she gets it from her older brother.   Lucky girl.

Enjoy these!

My iTunes:  Where Is the Difference? by Matt Papa

Hey y’all!  My accent comes out every now and then (perfect for this post)!

What can I say about Kentucky girls?  First of all, I am one.  They can roll around in the dirt and then dress up for the Derby.  Gotta love it.  A girl can be whoever she wants!  Meet Parker and Elizabeth.  I was able to photograph these two sisters when I was visiting home last time.  We had a great time!  We went out to a neighbors farm and just hung out and played.  These are just a few of my favorites from the day.  I am headed back to Louisville in just a few weeks and I am booking sessions!   Contact me if you are interested in a session!

Hope you all are enjoying your summer!
